Vaultlix: choose the username people will see and Vaultlix gives you a permanent number. You sign in with your Vaultlix number and password, and keep a recovery code for account recovery. Keep the recovery code safe: losing both your device and your recovery code permanently loses your Vaultlix number.
Zangi: Zangi generates a 10-digit number during registration without asking for a phone number, email or SIM details. Its FAQ says it works on a one-account, one-device basis and that password reset isn't possible because it doesn't collect identity information.
Vaultlix: messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys held by the people in the conversation, and call media is encrypted between participant devices. Vaultlix documents exactly what exists on its servers in its Privacy Policy, including encrypted message content kept for delivery and encrypted files kept in private storage.
Zangi: Zangi describes end-to-end encryption and says your data lives only on your device. It says files are split into encrypted parts and sent through a temporary repository that clears once the recipient downloads them.
Neither company's claims have been independently verified here, and we didn't find a published independent security audit on either website.

Yes, if you want a private number for one-to-one conversations. Like Zangi, Vaultlix doesn't need your phone number or email. With Vaultlix, every conversation starts with a request you accept, and you can recover your account with a recovery code if you forget your password.
